Repeater Lights

HMS Repeater Light System (RLS)

ShoreConnection recommends a HMS Repeater Light System (RLS), which is fully integrated into our HMS 900 software.

Since the 1st of April 2021 all operators of moving helidecks have to adhere to the most recent update of CAP 437 (Ed.8, Chapter 6.8) and HCA Standard helideck Monitoring Systems Rev 9B.

This is now mandatory for all operations in the UK in agreement with the CAA UK, HCA and helideck operators BHA.

In addition to this update to the Helideck Monitoring System this update specifies repeater lights to be installed on each corner of the helideck in a cross orientated 45 degrees to the bisector of the obstacle free sector.

The Repeater Light System gives helicopter pilots a clear visual real time indicator of the motion status of the helideck replicated from the display of the HMS computer .

Once the helicopter has safely landed on the helideck the RLS continues to give real time information to the pilot about the wind conditions.

The RLS are specially designed for this requirement and the harsh marine environment.

ShoreConnection has successfully installed and commissioned a significant number of these RLS systems and can provide full detailed guidance for a hassle free installation.
