Meteorological sensors for a Helideck Monitoring System are generally used to measure the air temperature, air humidity and barometric pressure (dew point).

Motion Reference Units (MRU) are a high-performance motion sensor that measures Roll, Pitch, Heave, Sway, Surge, Accelerations, Angular rates and Velocity for any rig, ship or vessel on which it is mounted.

Wind sensors are providing reliable high-quality data for the HMS application and to enable the helicopter to use the landing area safely and take off in any wind conditions that permit helicopter operations.

Visibility and Present Weather Sensors measure the Meteorological Optical Range as well as reporting the presence of liquid and frozen precipitation.

Ceilometers accurately measure ceiling or the base height of cloud layers.

This type of sensor reliably detects charged precipitation and warns of overhead lightning risk.

The Repeater Light System gives helicopter pilots a clear visual real time indicator of the motion status of the helideck replicated from the display of the HMS computer display.
